23rd Annual Academy Awards

February 27, 2007

Throughout the month of March we will be looking at the 23rd Annual Academy Awards. This Oscar show honored the awards for the year 1950. It is also the year of the suprise, as several big names walked away with nothing more than a nod. So take a look with us as we look back to 1950 and the movies, the actors and the awards.

Now do we even have to wait for this announcement? We all know Helen has it won.

BEST ACTRESS: Helen Mirren (I’m 3 for 3)

Reese is absolutely beautiful.

BEST ACTOR: Forest Whitaker!! (4 for 4) Sad for Peter O’Toole as he will not probably get another chance. Way to go Forest!

BEST DIRECTOR:Martin Scorcesee FINALLY!! Yes!! (and I’m 5 for 5!!) They are standing on their feet.

We are almost done here!

My two favorite stars, Jack & Diane

BEST PICTURE: The Deaprted!!!! YEAH! I’m 6 for 6 a perfect night for the first time EVER.

Okay, tell us goodnight Ellen.

I’m Getting Tired Here

February 26, 2007

Jennifer Lopez… thank god her ugly husband is not on stage with her. Wow, our own Dreamgirls show. Hudson’s got some pipes and some boobies! Beyonce looks like she has on a nightgown. Do we see an Aretha movie in the works with Jennifer Hudson in the starring role? Okay who is that guy? and do you see that crotch on him!?

Give me some Queen!! Latifah that is.

BEST SONG: I Need to Wake Up, Melissa Etheridge, now that was a shock, she beat out three Dreamgirl songs!

Okay it’s eleven-thirty we need to get this show moving along and cut out the commercials.

Hot Guy Alert! Will Smith. Well hot except for his ears.
FILM EDITING: The Departed

Now look at this woman, is she beautiful or what, one of the most elegant woman of tonight’s show, Jodie Foster. And now for those that passed…and the lights go dim.

Really HOT GUY ALERT!! Gael Garcia Bernal, but that hair is…well, bad.

BEST DOCUMENTARY SHORT STORY:The Blood of Yangouz District. He should let Ms. Yang speak.

Yuck, Jerry Seinfeld, why is here on here? You are not the host, Jerry just give the award please. Okay, ALREADY!!!
BEST DOCUMENTARY FILM: An Inconvenient Truth, we get to see Al again.

Clint Eastwood, he is a true legend. But he sure can’t give a speech. Yes, Clint you should have worn your glasses.

Celine Dion has one of the most pwerful and beautiful voices. WOW! that was a beautiful song.

Clint looks like he is wondering what the hell are you saying. I hope Clint has his glasses on so he can read the prompter. Okay now can we get on with the real show!?

ORIGINAL SCORE: Babel (1st Oscar)

President of the Academy, of course he has to show his face.

TOBEY!! Hot guy alert!, Again not real hot tonight.
ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY: Little Miss Sunshine (2nd Oscar counting Alan’s award)

10:00 and Counting

February 26, 2007

Where has Ellen been? I thought she was hosting this show.
COSTUME: Marie Antoinette, deserving, but what the hell is SHE wearing?

Crazy Tom alert!!!!

JEAN HERSHOLT AWARD: Sherry Lansing. Who is she? I guess Tom will tell us.

There’s Ellen!!

Gwenyth, I do not like that dress or hair.
CINEMATOGRAPHY: Pan’s Labyrinth (3rd award of the night)

So far this has been one of the most boring Oscar shows I’ve watched, well except for Ellen, she is fantastic!

HOT GUY ALERT!! Robert Downey Jr., again not so hot tonight, but funny!! Loving Naomi’s dress.
VISUAL EFFECTS: Pirates of the Caribbean;Dead Man’s Chest

Keith Urban looks like Clay Aiken, and Nicole did not look happy.

BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILM: The Lives of Others/Germany. I sure thought Pan’s Labyrinth would win this after so many other awards.

George Clooney…He just gets better with age.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: And she acted surprised? Jennifer Hudson. I am so glad she took that ugly jacket off. (I got another prediction right! so far 2 for 2)

First Hour Down

February 26, 2007

James Taylor and 17th nominee Randy Newman. Cars, was a good movie, and I loved that song. I had no idea Randy Newman did that. And to think he did “Short People” James Taylor is getting pretty old. His voice is still the same though.

Give me some Melissa!!

Leonardo and Al Gore, take your pick… That is just to easy. Was Jerry Seinfeld just picking his nose or yawning?

The Academy Awards went green? Okay.

Can we say just tacky, and a really bad joke. Al Gore running for President, again. Maybe not that bad of an idea, but to announce it on the Oscars? By the way Al, keep your day job, because you can not act. Not a very good stand-up comic either.

Cameron Diaz, what is at the bottom of the dress? By the way who are you dating now?
ANIMATED FEATURE: Happy Feet, that’s a suprize I thought Cars would drive away with that award.

HOT GUY ALERT…Ben Affleck, however he is not looking so hot tonight.

Tom Hanks, Mr. Rude. Let’s see what he says. Helen Mirren is hot!
BEST ADPATED SCREENPLAY: The Departed! YEAH!

Commercial and cigarette time, I’ll be back.

Can We Get to the Big Awards?

February 26, 2007

The Musical number? WOW, this is pretty awesome.

Carrell or Kinnear? Is there a question? Kinnear of course.
SOUND EDITING: Letters From Iwo Jima (1st award of the night)

McAvoy or Biel? Now that’s a hard choice, but once I hear his voice my choice is made.
SOUND MIXING: Dreamgirls (1st Award)

Rachel Weiss, Supporting Actor award now???? That’s how they usually do that..
SUPPORTING ACTOR: Alan Arkin (my first correct prediction!)

I love Ellen.

This dance troupe is pretty cool. Did they do that car commercial? Speaking of commercials…

The Show Continues…

February 26, 2007

Why do they allow Will Ferrell behind a camera? Why?
Actually it wasn’t too bad…

MAKEUP: Pan’s Labyrinth (2nd award already)

Aww the kids are cute, ANIMATED SHORT: Danish Poet… I thought the Nuts movie was better. Will Smith’s son is just too cute. BEST LIVE ACTION SHORT: The West Bank Story, that Ari Sandel is pretty cute. OMG! Jack Nicholson has a Britney Spears haircut!

and yet more commericals…

THE SHOW Begins

February 26, 2007

Love the Opening clips! ELLEN!! Wow true to form, she’s just Ellen!

Daniel Craig looks so, well just “Bondish”, Nicole looks, Pale.
BEST ART DIRECTION: Pan’s Labyrinth

Maggie shoulda been nominated. Instead she gets to announce the winners of the boring categories.

And now for the commercials….

I really hate these preshows, but you get to see a little of the red carpet festivities…

I love Leo. He says “buddy” quite a bit. What is up with that?

Oh Nicole, you are too pale for that red, and what is that on her shoulder, Now Naomi is beautiful as always.

Jennifer really needed to pick something else to wear.

Steve Carrell, why do we like him?

Okay the costume Designer from Devil Wears Prada, that hair is just BAD!

Penelope Cruz, Almost perfection.

Speaking of perfection where is Brad & Angelina?

Ryan Gosling is just too hot! He brought his mom too.

Reese looks great as always, even better without Ryan Phillippe on her arm.

The only drawback to watching this program is that we have to deal with these horrible commericals. Let’s get to the SHOW!
